Love Light Records is the creative music arm of Love Light Energy, founded by songwriter and producer Stephen Johnstone as a home for original music, artists and new creative projects.
Music has been part of Stephen’s life for more than 25 years. Through different chapters of life, songwriting has remained a way of expressing emotion, telling stories, processing experiences and turning moments in life into something that can be shared with others.
Love Light Records brings that journey together under one name.

Love Light Records is not built around one particular genre.
From rock, soul and acoustic songwriting to house, electronic music and more contemporary productions, every project has its own identity.
What connects the music is something much simpler. Feeling.
Some songs tell stories. Some come from personal experiences. Some are created to make people think, move or simply feel something.

Love Light Records provides a home for Stephen’s growing collection of artists, releases and musical projects, including Dave James, house and electronic productions, and future original projects.
It is a space where different sounds and ideas can exist together without having to fit into one musical box.

A Life in Music
Many of the songs being released today have a much longer story behind them.
The Dave James album A Life in Songs, for example, brings together music shaped by around twenty years of Stephen’s life — relationships, difficult periods, love, loss, hope, reflection and personal growth transformed into songs.
